We know that technology is constantly changing and advancing. As time goes on, we use and rely on it more and more and less on traditional methods. For example, 30 years ago when students would write research papers they would rely solely on library books and interviews for their information. While students now, use the internet to find all the information they desire. It has completely changed how people do simple tasks and made complicated ones easier.
Not only is technology advancing, the world is quickly becoming one homogenized society where culture, language, and food are integrating and heavily influencing each other. A lot of people believe that eventually the world will become one culture and there will be little to no differences between cultures.
Now, let’s analyze how exactly technology is changing the world.

1. Health

It is predicted that by 2025, dementia and Alzheimer’s will be little to non existent. Cancer treatments will not have so many harmful side effects and will not be as painful, and it is also predicted that type 1 diabetes will be completely preventable by then (due to human genome engineering). They have already started to be able to tell what diseases and health problems people are at risk for just by doing a couple simple tests. As technology continues to advance in the health industry, questions about scary diseases that have been unknown as to what causes it and what the cure is will be answered.

2. People Are More Informed About Disasters and Information All Over the World

Before the internet, it was harder to know about things that were happening in countries and places around the world. If you did hear about it, it was usually a period of time after the fact. The internet connects us with people in every country and we can instantly communicate with them. Not only that, the internet is filled with so much information about one topic. You no longer have to go to a library or flip through a magazine to find an article, you can just search it up and find what you need to know online.

3. Education

The e-Learning industry is growing at rapid rates. Traditionally, education tended to stay in a classroom with a student and teacher. Now, online and various technological tools have taken over the education system. Thousands of courses and degrees are available online and have shown to be more effective at times than the traditional classroom. Students can take classes at their own pace, and can easily repeat parts of the course they have questions about.

4. Communication

It is now easier than ever to be able to communicate with someone all over the world. The main form of communication in the 1800’s was the telegraph, and now smartphones, social media, and video messaging are taking over the world quickly. When it comes to writing letters or sending documents, the common form of communication used to be letters or faxes. Once email was created, however, the usage of those forms of communication dropped immensely. Email is convenient and a fast way for someone to receive your content and/or attached documents. As technology continues to progress, who knows how we will communicate in the future.

5. Automation

Automation is when a computer or form of technology does something without the assistance of humans. You may not realize how often you actually use automation. It is something as simple as a thermostat or a coffee maker. You control how you want something done, but it is done completely by the machinery being used. It tends to be looked as a negative when looking into the future. It is feared that robots and computers will take over the world and take the jobs of many people.
The Breakout Project gave a great example as to why this should not be a big concern. They said “When a lawyer no longer needs to constantly sift through data and legal issues just to find one case, he/she can focus on other aspects of your case, such as finding creative ways to defend your case. Facts and fact checking can be done by Artificial Intelligence because there is no emotional aspect necessary, and also because sometimes it’s a bit boring. The last thing you want is your lawyer to feel buried and overwhelmed with paperwork when they should be speaking with you and figuring out how to win your case.”
